Mifsud Brothers Ltd. is proud to mark a significant milestone as Michela Mifsud steps into the role of Managing Director becoming not only the sixth-generation family member to lead the company, but also the first female to do so in our 160+ year history.
Michela has been part of MBL’s leadership team since 2012, working closely with her father, Ivan Mifsud, and gaining an in-depth understanding of the company’s operations, culture, and long-standing values. Her journey has been shaped by years of hands-on experience across the business, where she cultivated a deep appreciation for the legacy she now carries forward.
For Michela, this new chapter is more than a professional role; it is a continuation of a family story built on resilience, hard work, and passion for Malta’s tourism and cruise industry.

After 30+ years of dedicated service at the helm of Mifsud Brothers Ltd., Ivan Mifsud now takes on the role of Chairman. His leadership has been instrumental in shaping MBL into a recognised force within Malta’s tourism and cruise sectors, guiding the company through periods of growth, evolution, and industry transformation.
Ivan’s deep knowledge, strategic foresight, and unwavering commitment have laid the foundation for the company’s continued success. As Chairman, he remains a guiding influence, providing mentorship, stability, and vision while supporting the next generation of leadership.
His transition marks a proud moment for the Mifsud family and for MBL, as he passes the baton to Michela while continuing to champion the values that have defined the company’s legacy for over a century.
