Success of the Inaugural Cannes-Malta Race 2025
The first-ever Cannes to Malta Race concluded with an impressive performance by Sailing Yacht Valiant, which secured its place in the history of this new 606-nautical-mile offshore challenge. The race presented sailors with light winds, complex tactical decisions, and the demanding conditions of the Straits of Bonifacio, an ideal test ahead of the Rolex Middle Sea Race.
As the official sponsor, 20Twenty by Mifsud Brothers Ltd. is proud to support an initiative that strengthens Malta’s position at the heart of Mediterranean sailing. Speaking about the company’s involvement, Michela Mifsud, Managing Director of 20Twenty, said:
“Supporting the first Cannes-Malta Race aligns perfectly with our mission to elevate destination management experiences and to continue showcasing Malta as a premier Mediterranean destination.”
The race was jointly organised by the Royal Malta Yacht Club and the Yacht Club de Cannes, and its successful debut has already laid the foundation for growth in future editions. Plans are underway for the 2026 race, scheduled to start on 5th October, with expectations of attracting more international entries.
During the prize-giving ceremony in Malta, Ivan Mifsud, Chairman of MBL, was present to represent the company and celebrate this significant milestone for the Mediterranean sailing community.
20Twenty extends its thanks to partners Visit Malta, Yachting Malta Ltd, and Camilleri Marine for their support.
